The NYC Landmark Preservation Commission unanimously approved reBuild Workshop's design for the reconfiguration and contemporary addition of a late-19th-century carriage house and adjacent 3-car garage in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill historic district. Together, the two existing structures and the new addition will form a single-family residence designed to Passive House standards.

The Passive House aspect is what we're most proud of. Bringing high-performance, low-energy design to a landmarked, century-old typology feels like exactly the kind of work our city needs more of.

We are fortunate to have three Passive House townhouse projects currently underway across NYC - all within designated historic districts. Three different challenges - all aimed at proving that deep energy retrofits and preservation can go hand in hand.
